Marseille has been chosen for
next years' event because France will host the European
Football Championships in 2016. The French Football
Federation bid included 12 stadiums, of which 4 will be new
and 7 requiring major renovations with a total budget in
excess of €1.7 billion. This programme includes a major
renovation of Marseille's Velodrome Stadium valued at 267
million euros. Construction work should have commenced by
June 2011 and delegates to the conference will have an
opportunity to view progress during the course of the event.

IAAM is the world’s largest international association of
professionals in public venue management serving a diverse
industry.
IAVM-Europe was formally organised in 2004 to create
programmes, congresses and a European-based school to
educate professionals who
have chosen a career in public assembly venue management
throughout Europe.
